The Merchant Navy (or Merchant Marine) is a term used to refer to the commercial branch of the British maritime industry. It consists of a fleet of civilian-owned ships that are used to transport goods and personnel around the world; not to mention that cruise ships are also regarded as merchant’s vessels.
The Merchant Navy is an essential part of the UK’s economy and plays a vital role in supporting its military operations.

Eligibility
- Age: 17 & Not Over 25 Years on the date of commencement of trainning.
- 12thPCM 60% Aggregate, 10th or 12th English 50 Marks
OR
- Age: 17 & Not Over 25 Years on the date of commencement of trainning.
- BSC 60% Aggregate. 10th or 12th English 50 Marks
Note: 12th Appearing Students can apply for IMU-CET & Shipping Company Sponsorship Exams.

Medical Standard:
- Eye Sight: Distance vision 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in other eye with normal colour vision.
- Minimum Height: 157cm
- Minimum Weight: 45 Kg
- Medical Health Certificate from doctor approved by DGS
